The research work of the department is carried out on a wide range of issues in the field of interdisciplinary materials science, physical chemistry, production technology and research (composition-structure-properties) of thin-film structures, semiconductor, dielectric and nanomaterials.

  1. Technological laboratory for the synthesis of nanogradient and nanocomposite functional film structures;

  3. Scanning probe microscopy;
  4. X-ray diffraction analysis;
  5. Electron-microscopic research methods;
  6. Optical research methods;
  7. thermophysical measurements;
  8. Acoustic research methods.

Interdepartmental training and testing laboratory of semiconductor materials and dielectrics “Monocrystals and blanks based on them” (certification of single crystals and elements based on them). Accredited in the State Technical Regulation System of the Russian Federation.

The department has a  unique by world standards complex of research equipment of the  latest generation of leading companies in the world for studying the elemental and chemical composition, structure, electrophysical and electro-optical properties at the atomic and electronic level.

The main directions of scientific work of the department:

  1. Material science of bulk semiconductor, dielectric and ferroelectric materials;
  2. Technology and materials science of thin-film structures, including nanogradient optical structures, ferroelectric and electro-optical films, silicon-carbon diamond-like nanocomposites;
  3. Creation and research of bulk thermoelectric materials with nano-micro- and submicron structural elements;
  4. Research of acousto-optic properties of materials for functional devices of opto- and acousto-electronics.
